Spin obtained the UNI/PdR 125: 2022 Gender Equality Certification. What are the aims and objectives?
On the 16th of March 2022 the document UNI/PdR 125/2022 on gender equality in professional settings is approved. The Italian Government Presidency of the Council of Minister of Equal Opportunities defined the criteria for the document, formalizing the elements on how to obtain the certification.
The UNI/PdR 125:2022 is a Gender Equality Certification System, with tools to evaluate the situation of gender equality in professional settings with qualitative and quantitative KPIs. The objective is to shorten the gender gap at work. This document aims to give tools and ongoing support to reach a more equal system.
In order to get certified, the KPIs are used to ensure the quality of the actions the companies take to achieve gender equality.
the KPIs are defined in 6 strategic areas:
- culture and strategy
- governance
- HR processes
- career opportunities and inclusion of women in professional settings
- equal salary system
- parenthood and work-life balance
for every area there are specific KPIs (regarding quality or quantity) that are used to measure the present or future level of commitment. In Italy only specific agencies can release the certification.
In Spin, we believe the first step to support gender equality and diversity is give practical tools to understand our diversities and aim to a equal and inclusive place of work.
Spin achieved the Gender Equality certification in 2025, but it has been a long time since we promoted internal processes regarding gender equality.
We aim to built a fair and respectful place of work. To do this, we organize and support continuous education on equality, diversity and inclusion. In 2025 we hosted the Italian linguist Beatrice Cristalli, author of the book ‘Parla bene pensa bene. Piccolo dizionario delle identità’. She gave the team the chance to workshop more equal ways to use words and language, to understand and respect each other. Another important in-person event we organized was with a Milan-based anti-violence cooperative, Cerchi d’Acqua. The centre was founded in 2000, proving the commitment of their team of psychologists, lawyers and educators in their aim to support and fight against violence on women.
These are only just examples of the activities we host at Spin to ensure equality and protect diversities at work, maintaining the commitment of the certification UNI/PdR 125:2022.
