RemaNetRemanufacturing Network is an European project which aims to enable a widespread diffusion of the concepts of remanufacturing, recycling, material saving and functional upgrading by implementing a factory-integrated digital platform able to extend the remanufacturing value chain.

The vision is to create a new remanufacturing business model by creating a community where different actors can make available their specific know-how and contribute to any step of the remanufacturing process.

The expected results are:

  • Development of a digital platform providing a standard for manufacturing and re-manufacturing with an integrated and easy-to-use infrastructure, fostering a reliable and secure data flow, access, and use at all levels, from shopfloor and further along the value chain;
  • Development of horizontal digital tools supporting demand&supply matching, by providing secure data sharing to spread the needed competences in terms of human resources or digitized formalized knowledge.
  • Development of vertical digital tools enabling the integration of shopfloor and process data with advanced tools for monitoring, prognostics and full traceability of material and information flows as well as cutting edge remanufacturing technologies.

In RemaNet, 25 partners from science and industry worlds are working together to make this vision come true.

Spin, as other companies as Siemens, ZF, Holonix just to mention some of them, under the supervision of Politecnico di Milano, are providing their technical expertise.

In addition to the vision mentioned above, there are 4 case-study in RemaNet project: one about mold&dies machines, one for the automotive theme, one for energy theme and one about electric motors.

It is precisely this last case that Spin deals with.

Spin is specialized in electric motor since 1999 and it has long been focused on sustainability, in fact it has patented SpinRel®, a reluctance motor which is rare-earth free and highly efficient.

In RemaNet, Spin will develop an automatic tool able to remanufacture an induction electric motor into a reluctance one, only substituting its rotor so recycling the stator, its original windings then obtaining a motor with an higher efficiency.

In Spin, innovation is one of the main key word, for this reason we are adopting a cutting-edge approach exploiting AI algorithm in our remanufacturing tool, ensuring accuracy and a fast response.

In this way, we keep taking part to the latest technological challenges in terms of sustainability, innovation and remanufacturing.
